Tidalë : The Children of the Lagoon
This is a character design created as part of a personal animation project. I drew inspiration from Moana to explore a marine world rooted in tribal culture. This project has been especially meaningful to me : themes of identity, nature and cultural transmission deeply inspired me and pushed me to develop my visual research further.
Kori is a thirteen-year-old girl ,quick, slight, copper-skinned, with black hair.She is born the same night her mother dies in childbirth. Fatherless and motherless, she grows up in her grandfather
Naalë is the white-tailed tropicbird who accompanies Kori, the heroine of the animated film Tidalë : Children of the Lagoon. Present since the night of Kori's birth, he follows her in silence through every trial of her childhood
